STRUAN BAR ROTHESAY

Popular basement bar just outside Rothesay centre

Mountstuart Road Rothesay PA20 9DY

Introduction

The Struan Bar, Rothesay, is a small, friendly basement bar, packed full of warm welcomes & island charm. Like many businesses, the bar suffered following the first COVID lockdown. Sadly it remained closed to the public for 3 years. Then in August 2022, the bar was given a second chance when it came under new management. It was out with the old & in with the new. What had started out as being a quick tidy up & paint job, grew into a labour of love. The entire project grew arms & legs & just kept running! A whole new bar was built, chairs were replaced & floors were laid. The end result was far more than we ever imagined. A warm cosy space has been created, giving that feeling of being so comfortable you want to take your shoes off & put your feet up, or, as quite often happens, grab a guitar and play a tune.
