Recently used Ross to help install a couple of log burners in old Victorian chimneys. From the first time we met, Ross struck me as a highly knowledgeable and thoroughly nice bloke. He was happy to offer advice on preparation of the fireplaces and chimneys ready for the installation of liners and then the log burners. He wasn't pushy about using his own suppliers and was quite happy to let me source the stoves, even arranging to collect them from his hub near Glasgow to save on crazy delivery costs. Over the course of the project which took a couple of months end-to-end due to the amount of prep involved, Ross popped round perhaps half a dozen times to advise and assist, giving helpful and constructive suggestions. On the days that the stoves were actually installed, his professionalism and attention to detail showed through. One flue wasn't drawing well due to the weather at the time (very warm and humid) so he happily popped back a few days later to test and certify the installation. In summary I'm delighted that I asked Ross to help out and I'm glad I waited for him to have availability. The other main installer based on the island beginning with H had recently fitted a single log burner for a neighbour and had made a right meal of things, eventually charging more than three times the amount I've ended up paying out for TWO installations with Ross's help. Highly recommended. He will clean you out of herbal teas though, so bear that in mind ;)
