Small sheltered shingle and sand bay on the eastern side of Bute, a nice leisurely 2.5 mile walk along the promenade from Rothesay, overlooking Largs and Great Cumbrae.

There's no facilities at Ascog Bay
Ascog Bay and the nearby rocky foreshore as you leave Ascog in the direction of Mount Stuart often have a small number of seals hanging around. You'll quite often see one or more playing in the bay.

There is no dedicated parking at Ascog Bay however there are no restrictions on the nearby road. There's also a small layby just past the beach near the red phone box that can take a handful of cars.
