1st Rothesay Boys' Brigade have confirmed that meetings are restarting commencing Tuesday 16th November 2021 for Anchors and Seniors. Juniors and Company groups will restart on Tuesday 23rd November and meetings will then take place on alternate weeks thereafter (i.e. fortnightly).
In recognition of the fact that many of the younger members will no doubt have grown out of their uniforms or changed sections in the period of closure during the Covid-19 pandemic, for the time being at least the organisers are not requiring uniform be worn. Instead, T-shirts and shorts/jogging bottoms are acceptable with outside clothing if the weather demands. A uniform exchange scheme is also in operation.
Changes necessitated by Covid-19
There are a number of procedural changes necessitated by the ongoing Covid-19 threat which will affect some of the activities that can be offered - for example, sections will not be permitted to mix during activities.
Toilets are operating on a traffic-light system to ensure they are never crowded.
Over 12s (i.e. Company section and adults) are required to wear face coverings indoors.
All boys should observe social distancing when interacting with staff.
The kitchen is currently out of bounds, so boys are encouraged to bring their own labelled and filled water bottle to each meet.
Location, times and fees
Meetings take place at Trinity Church, Castle Street Rothesay.
Meetings commence at 6:30pm and run until 7:30pm (anchors) and 8:00pm (all other sections).
The standard fee is £2 per week. When your child first attends you will need to complete a registration form which will include medical issues. Long-term payment methods will be discussed should your child enjoy the sessions and intends to stay.
