Anchor Community Share Offer now open

Port Bannatyne Development Trust are delighted to confirm that the Community Share Offer for the Anchor pub is now live.

Running for five weeks, the target is to raise £105,000 to purchase and reopen the Anchor as a flexible community space with a garden area.  The Scottish Land Fund are making up the rest of the cost on condition that the target amount is raised from members.

The purchase of the premises can proceed once £50,000 of the target has been raised.

Membership categories and costs

There are two membership categories:

Type A members must be residents of Port Bannatyne, defined as those whose usual polling station is Port Bannatyne Village Hall.  Membership for these individuals is available from as little as £25.

Type B members are everyone else, including those who have property in Port Bannatyne but are registered to vote elsewhere.  Membership for these individuals or businesses is a minimum of £200 for those normally resident elsewhere on Bute, and £1000 for those normally resident off Bute.

A crowdfunding campaign will also be launched for those who wish to contribute any amount outside of the membership scheme.
